Message If you shorten the wire you reduce resistance; lengthening increase impedance. The question; is by how much do you plan on shortening the wire?

If it's just for wire management and clean up and only a few inches or so, then change should be negligible.
The only [real] way is to try and see if you notice any changes.

Some 02 sensors can be sensitive to wire lengths as mine have changed slightly after I did the same thing.

I shortened the lengths that ran to the in-car gauge(s) and notices only a slight change (higher A/F).

A good rule of thumb is if you shorten any wire providing A/C signal by 1 meter, you should [increase] the AWG thickness. (e.g. 22ga to 18 or 20ga)

*Note. Your typical LAN cable CAT V and CAT Ve and long-haul single mode or multi-mode fiber, also have similar thresholds with signal. Not that these are the same, but the idea within physics is consistent.

I've done many alarms, stereos, and all around electrical projects within 12v, and never discovered a dramatic change in signal due to minor wire length shortening...unless the wires are sending a digital signal like data, then you better keep w/i the tolerances length wise.

I’m no guru however in summary; you should be safe if you just want to shorten the 02 sensor wires.

Be sure to use solder or an approved coax crimper and protect the wire from heat using high temp pro take or wraps.
