Message I had the crank micro polished and then I measured the journals. The tolerance for main bearing is .0011-.0022 I ordered oem bearings to put it at .0015 The connecting rod clearance is .0011-.0019 and I ordered oem bearings to put it at .0015 I ordered a new oil pickup tube with the correct newer style gasket(not an o-ring). My oil pump has less than 5k miles on it.

Ive cranked the car probably 8 times since I rebuilt it last september because ive been troubleshooting why ive been randomly dropping cylinders (bad old style ptu)so its ran maybe 5-10 minutes total until today so i dont think its an assembly lube problem. I used redline assembly lube liberally. My oem oil pressure gauge was reading just past the 1st mark.

Would a spun rod bearing cause the rpm's to fluctuate in neutral when previously it was steady at 900? I only have a regular stethoscope. Do you just crank it and place it on the side of the block?
