Message Hey guys, this is crazy. I have '94 convertible. It's almost entirely stock, with the exception of the corner lights, fender lights, and tails which I changed out 2 summers ago (the alarm issue started last summer). I haven't touched anything else on the vehicle. I keep it garaged year round. When I take it out in the winter, no problems. But come summer time, when I park the car in the sunlight and activate the stock alarm, within 2 minutes the alarm will go off. If I lock the doors but don't depress the button on my key FOB to lock the doors, then the alarm wont have an issue. Has anyone heard of this before or had a similar situation? Or have any ideas on what's wrong?

My mechanic told me to take it to the dealership because I probably have a shorted fuse in the alarm system and they would be better equipped to handle the issue. I did take it to the dealership and they said they had never heard of it but at a rate of $120/hr they could look into it. They said if it takes 10 hours to diagnose the problem, it will cost $1200!! HA! And they wonder why I don't get my car serviced there.

I appreciate any responses or ideas you guys might have.

Andy
