| Seeing as how you are from Maryland, you should have access to 93 octane which has a higher limit than the 91 octane of California. While 14psi is the generally accepted "limit"...it isn't. 14psi is safe for most "blanket tunes" (non-custom) on 91 octane. By adding breather mods (intake pipes, intercoolers, exhaust mods, or even turbos) the efficiency of the setup is improved and heat in the charge air will be less, which helps combat detonation. I personally run a 15psi with spikes of 16psi on 91 octane and with 93 octane 18psi is attainable with a proper custom tune and mods.
