You will be amazed at how much you will learn about your vehicle just by removing panels, the front facia and doing a thurough inspection of the inlet components. Ensure that all of the inlet clamps are tight (not over-tightened as well), and that all of the hoses are not weathered or cracked. The visual inspection alone will take a great deal of time to perform properly. As an alternative, although I have not done this on a Z, you could try the propane method of checking for vacuum leaks. Obtain one of those cheap propane torches and about 10' of fuel hose. Remove the nozzle tip and attach the fuel hose to the end of the nozzle. Start the car and let idle, slowly trace all around the connections with propane flowing through the fuel hose, while monitoring the idle speed. An increase in idle speed indicates where a leak is present. Good Luck and get back to boostin'!
