Subject	Wobbly shifter

Message	I've got 144K miles on my 91 2+2 and the other day I noticed that my stick feels like its got an inch or two of "float" after I shift gears. The gear entry is fine, no prob, but the stick feels loosey-goosey after the shift. The Service Manual diagram shows a bearing at the bottom of the control lever. Do these wear out over time or is there some way to tighten the control arm at the bottom where it links to the tranny control rod?.
