Message I've tried kkrofft (OH)'s oil sender fix without success because I found the aftermarket sending unit didn't exactly fit the tapered hole in the block. But the most important thing I learned was how sensitive the gauge reading is to changes in resistance. Literally 1 ohm makes a huge difference in what's shown on the panel. 1 ohm is about the smallest resistance you can effectively measure!

Bottom line: "search" and you'll realize the OEM sensor is unreliable and the above workaround is cumbersome. There's no good permanent solution regarding oil sending unit. Quick fix: pay big $$$ and buy OEM. Better fix: pay $ and make the above solution work for your car.
