I have a 93TT that is skipping. I have found that removal of the harnesses to 2 of the coil packs do not affect the idling performance of the engine when they are removed from the coils. Upon removing the wires for the coils and measuring voltage, I find the center to be negative, the left pin to hold 5vdc & the right pin to hold 13vdc. These are from the non-functional coils which is the reason I suspect the PTU. On a good coil wire (engine almost stalls when connector is removed, I measure 12vdc on the left side & 13vdc on the right side of the connector. Can somebody please advise? Not sure if this is surely the PTU or if I need to look further. My PTU was replaced under the recall several years ago. Everything under the hood is stock & the vehicle has 175,000 miles on it. Has never smoked or leaked. It ran fine until this. I would be forever grateful for any help that this forum can provide. Thanks.
