Message	and slipped and burnt up. I take it the flywheel was never resurfaced? This can and will cause release issues, Flywheels tend to wear on the outer edge more then the inner edge causing them to be tapered. If you try to put a new disk on it it will not sit flat and try to spring back causing a release issue. The clutch fork is another known problem that causes the clutch not to release fully and is why I came up with a better fork design that doesn't flex like the weak stock fork. With age the stock fork gets even worse than when they are new.
