This can and will cause release issues, Flywheels tend to wear on the outer edge more then the inner edge causing them to be tapered. If you try to put a new disk on it it will not sit flat and try to spring back causing a release issue. The clutch fork is another known problem that causes the clutch not to release fully and is why I came up with a better fork design that doesn't flex like the weak stock fork. With age the stock fork gets even worse than when they are new.
