Message To check the thermo you need to pull it but be prepared to replace it as long as it is out with a Nissan unit preferred over the after market units. Also check the new one before install, they sometimes are out of calibration. To check it see the procedure in the service manual it requires a stove, pot, water, string and thermometer. I have an infra red gun for reading temps.

Also check the radiator for some clogged channels. Do this by feeling the inside back of the radiator after warm up and shut off. Feel for cold areas on the radiator which would indicate poor or no circulation theu those channels.

What about the rest of your cooling system? Have you done a cleaning of it?

The coolant temp sensor is most likely sending a correct
reading to the ECU?

Look for leaves between the radiator and the AC coil causing restriction.

How is your clutch cooling fan operation?

Also look into the electric cooling fans for proper operation.
