| After seeing dyno charts showing modest power gains I decided to intall the Selin kit in my Z. The car:
Exta parts needed...
The original set up. Car had an Apexi airbox eliminator. This kit comes with 2 bracket to hold up the filter/MAF and 2 to keep the apron from flapping. It is light too as it is all plastic. You can the see the Selin translator to the bottom right. In this location it interfered with the apron backet and left side MAF connector. I ended up sawing off the mounting tab, wrapping it in foam and stuffing it down the aierbox air feed tube.
Finished product. The elbows make contact with the fan housing. The old Y-snorkel did too. Some trimming of the apron was necessary as the filters fit in a lower position. I lowered the apron a bit by moving the support brackets forward/down. This concerned me some as it reduces some more incoming air access to the radiator. I also spaced the side bracket (between the MAFs) from the other piece to relieve tension. The MAF front surfaces are not parallel to each other. Some bending torque is being applied to the MAF flanges by the side bracket. I hope this does not cause a problem later.
