Message new pump is hooked up to do it that way. It's a really easy procedure and I can't see what harm would be done by having some old fluid sitting in the rack? You won't be circulating it through the pump anyway -- it will be all new fluid going in.

FYI -- Flush is a bit easier as a 2 person job. Someone to start the car while you pour fluid into the reservoir. If poured just right - won't have to bleed the rack/system afterward. But even the bleeding is no big deal - just one more step to do.

When I did this job -- used a 7 ft piece of clear tubing from Home Depot, connected it to the return line and ran to a bucket. Of course -- also need to block off the reservoir return fitting to keep from making a mess!
