| I put the history of my threads below, After checking the spark plugs all of them only one of the 6 was functioning, so we replaced the spark plugs and boom it fired right up!! it sounds and idles alot better too!! With all that fuel trying to start it up im i saw alot of black smoke coming out the back so my question is this. Moving forward a couple things have to happen to get this thing back on the road. It's missing the recirc valves or bov's would this cause the jim wolfe ecu to signal more fuel causing it to run ultra rich? There is deffanitly a vacuum leak as when we cover the holes to the recirc the vac gauge goes from 0 to -10. my fuel pressue guage reads right below 40psi. So i'm ordering some recirc valves and hoping that this helps solve the black/rich problem. After a few minutes of warming up most of the black smoke went away. I'm thinking drop the oil, put new oil in as well since we ran so much gas through there trying to get it to start. It does sound a hell of alot better though. Just worried about it running rich. Any advice?. Thanks
Ok here is the problem, Quick Stats: 1993 Z32 Twin Turbo Dual Pop Charger/Jim Wolf Turbos With ECU.
The car had been sitting for almost 3 years, and was at shop that went defunct and they hid the car. After a major lawsuit and fighting to get it back, We were able to get it to start by putting new fuel and new fuel pump and bypassing the fuel relay. It has a fuel pressure regulator and is running at about 35psi. (this worries me a bit because i think i really f'd up here). It has a completely built motor, the motor would start up just fine, with the bypass one day as i was working on the car while it was running the bypass wire fell out and the car back fired, and that was it... no more start.. We checked fuel, we checked spark (i didnt' see it actually spark but my friend who is fairly savy says he did).. The ECU reads knock sensor failure code. I left the battery off all night because i have noticed a few different things going on, the security light flashes when i'm trying to start the car, at one point last night when we were checking spark the security light wasn't flashing, this makes me think that perhaps something is up with the factory security that is disabling spark? This morning my friend came over we shot starter fluid into the passenger side intake plenum, still no fire, just cranking. I know for a fact i have fuel, i know i have air, just not so certain about spark, my biggest fear is i have washed the motor out... :( if that's the case all this money i just dumped into this car.... omg i just want to vommit. I posted this message earlier before, and i have tried a few things since, and haven't been able to resolve the issue so i have a few questions and hoping that some of you can help me trouble shoot this.
I had tried to bypas the fuel pump relay and the wire fell out the fuel stoped the car backfired and then hasn't started since, it has a fully built motor jim wolf setup. I'm thinking this is electrical, but im not sure. Could a bad knock sensor prevent the car from starting? Where are the fusable links located? I have 8.8:1 pistons what would or are the specs of a compression test? Could too much fuel on the sparks plugs prevent the car from starting? Thanks Phil
