Message	you'll need to pull off the protective plastic covers and inspect. FYI -- When I pulled my entire dash to do a heater core replace about 5 years back, I made a wood brace that I attached to the column to keep it from dropping. I just don't remember exactly how the column bolted up but I think it fastened to a large support brace that ran left to right behind the dash...
