| Drill a small hole in one of the two sheets of metal.. use the MIG with a gun "circular" motion to fill the hole that you drilled. Start in the center of the hole drilled (MIG wire should be in touching bottom layer of metal/center of hole).. Do a quick swirl ( I would use a little higher heat setting than what you'd usually use on whatever thickness since its a quick burst). Viola! spot weld. Ps. Use a clamp or vise grips or somthing to keep them tightly together before welding. When buying a welder.. get a good one to start off with (within your needs).. and dont get the harbor freight welder etc.. I just got a Hobart 140 (same as Miller, few small differences).. and its 110v. So I can use it anywhere and is plenty powerful for things I do for around my Z.
