1) The VTC in the 91 engine is fine if you don't plug it in, it just doesn't work. Not Ideal, but nothing you can do about it. 2) Sell the 96 ECU, get a OBDI ECU, and harness (Still, unsure if this works. Seems plausible though)
I remember talk of someone who converted his OBDII harness completely to an OBDI, a local guy I knew purchased it off of him, but UPS lost it, I knew that would have worked though.
Anyways, it's tough predicament you're in, since there are so few 96's, not alot of knowledge on the subject either
