| When I got my car, it had an aftermarket replica bumper cover and it never fit right. I replaced it with an OEM one and it didn't fit any better. It never matches up perfectly with the curve on the fender. I actually pulled my fenders off to bolt them together and reinstall them as a unit, and I was able to get them closer than ever this way. It's worth noting, however, that on the fender or bumper side (I can't remember which) the bolts go into nylon "catches" that can't hold shit. I ended up replacing this with bolts+nuts+washers to really clamp them together. Here's an older picture (OEM bumper, but with the crappy nylon fasteners)
Here's a few months after bolting them together.
My passenger side still isn't perfect--on the two upper mounting studs, one is stripped and one is broken. Thx previous owner; that fender is getting replaced because of a dent anyways. Also keep in mind there are several retainers and braces throughout the front bumper that pretty much all have to be present in order to get it to fit. Aside from the two brackets (4 bolts) under the nose panel, there's two bolts on each side, two nuts on each side, and two bolts in the opening through the mustache. I leave the four under the nose panel loose while I align everything else. Because it's such a pain in the ass to make the bumper meet the fenders, I remove them as a unit now.
Hmm, I need to get a splash shield.
