Message having it fixed is definitely much cheaper than having to buy a new head. Make sure you take it to a place that can do submerged welding. This ensures that the surrounding area doesn't severally warp when they go to weld the designated area. Be sure to lap the valve in that same side of the port as that much heat can shift guides and warp things in the process. If the valve laps in fine then proceed to blend the weld and then pressure test. If all of those work out you can go forward in running the head. I'd say overall with the labor involved you may spend $50-75 total in getting something like that fixed.
