Message Folks,
I got a call from an owner of a 1991 300 ZX TT with a no start and the car is currently stuck in a parking lot. I will head down in the morning to either get it started or tow it, but I wanted your opinion on the possible cause beofre heading down. Since electrical problems can be hard to troubleshoot w/o sufficent information, let me list all I know about the problem.

- Car ran fine until today's problem.
- After car was briefly parked, the owner returned and got no response when attempting to start the car.
- Battery is good.
- ALL lights, door chime, etc function w/o problem.
- When turning the key to start the car, NO sound is heard from the starter motor and the starter's "magnetic switch" (as the service manual calls it).
- Owner depressed clutch pedal many times thinking the clutch switch may be stuck, but had no effect.

I got the service manual on my desk and the possible causes as shown in the troubleshooting section are fuse (#19 10 amp), fusible link, ignition switch, inhibitor switch which I assume is the clutch pedal switch, starter relay, or the sarter motor's solenoid. Seems fairly simple, but from the past this car had some nightmare electrical problems.

The car itself is like new with VERY LOW original miles as it was stored for many years until last year although it was stored for this year's winter months. The car is total stock OEM except for a top end radio so the harness was never butchered.

So, given the run-down above and based on other owner's experiences, what could be the most likely cause. Also, were are the fuselinks located? I know they are not behind the driver's side fuse kick panel.

Thanks in advance,
John
