Message	I did the tire movements as noted by Audioquest and all movements seem to be in the rack. The U-joint looks fine and rack/steering connection looks good. The plastic piece that is breaking apart seem to only be a cover to possibly help keep out dust. What I also discovered was I was able to turn the steering column back and forth by hand which tells me the free play must be in the rack. Possibly teeth worn down. Seems to be the only logical explanation. But thanks all for the help on this one....definitely appreciated :-)
