| When I back out of the throttle, the engine rpm seems drop too quickly causing the engine to brake too hard. The effect is a jerky transition when going between power on and off throttle. Today I disconnected the yellow connector on the Auxiliary Air Control Valve and the on/off throttle transition became much smoother. It is as if the throttle is being closed much more gradually. I had previously removed the IACV and checked all the functions per DaytonaZ's FAQ writeup. The selonoid in the AAC unit activated w/ 12v. and the piston was smooth in the cylinder. The on-board Techtom provides AAC duty cycle readings which range from 15% idle to 80% plus WOT. I assume these are ECU instructions, not the actual duty cycle of the unit. Techtom reading for the TPS range from .46 to 4.95 volts. Hard idle is a little low until the engine warms up, but overall, the on/off throttle smoothness is much improved, and the jerkiness previously associated with on/off throttle transitions is greatly reduced. I am wondering if it might be worth changing out the IACV unit for a known good one, even though the AAC valve and solenoid seem to be working OK? Any other suggestions? TIA Gordo
