| There are so many people running Nismo 740s now the tuning issues seem to have gone away with better tunes. I know the guys at SZ will tell you there are no downside issues or problems tuning them. They will recommend them even on a "stock" HP car for reliability. All of our cars make about the same horsepower at idle so this is the only "challenge" area to tune. After idle, they are all moving more fuel and it is a question of where they max out for duty cycle/size. The 740s give you more safety margin and are less stressed to give you your 500 HP range where 550s will be pushing pretty hard with little margin for error. I think the 740s are a bit cheaper from most vendors also? Nismo, Sard, PE, Jecs etc. all make the new style pintle-less. The older pintle style is much less common now for anything new except stock injectors. They are still available as stock replacement due to the old style connectors people have on the injector harness. You are right to go with new style as they are much more reliable!!! I have one Z I am trying to keep as "stock" as possible. I replaced my stock injectors with new "stock" Nissan 360 Pintle injectors. This is one mistake I wish I could correct and would not do it again. I'd put 740s on if I had it to do over! But you won't go wrong with a new pintle-less style Nismo injector of your size choice 550s or bigger.
