Message Got it back from the shop and now it overheats like crazy. I searched but could not find results that have the
same situation like me. This is the rundown of what happened. I’ll make this quick.

Cooling system was working fine with no signs of problems. Temperature gauge was always near half way.

Under drive crank pulley caused water pump to break (I got the matching pulley now).
Filled with tap water and driven back home (made frequent stops to refill radiator).
Engine was about 80% in overheat threshold by the time I refilled.
Car sat for 11 months in garage with radiator drained (except for typical small portion at the bottom).
At this point any remaining fluid in system is tap water.

Towed to shop and had mechanic work on cam/crank seals, timing belt and pump.

Five minutes within driving after picked up, some smoke appears on the passenger side. Checked temp, it was OK.

Wanted to go back to shop but he was closed so I kept driving and 3 minutes later, temp was MAXED! I pulled over immediately.

After some driving tests the next day, this is what I gathered:

At low speeds < 40mph temp at slightly above normal level, almost dead even.
At higher speeds > 45mph temp climbs steadily then jumps. White smoke emits from passenger side lower plenum.
Upper radiator hose swells. Water temp sensor has fluid bubbling out.
No obvious leaks are present.

Mechanic claims, when idle for 2hrs, temp remains normal everything is OK.
Mechanic blames my fan clutch. I dispute. Then he blames radiator saying it needs to be roded.

I’m stuck and don’t have a clue to what is happening.

Currently I’m injured, so I cannot do any more tests. I searched this forum for a Z shop here in Vegas but all info was
outdated. Are there any trusted mechanics left in Vegas? I miss my LA mechanic.

Short video of overheating.
