Message of the compression stroke NOT exhaust stroke. This requires a means to find the true TDC of the piston motion and this is usually done with a depth dial indicator in the spark plug hole. Once located place a mark on the UD pulley opposite the stationary pointer on the engine. Then measuring the circumference of the UD pulley with a cloth tape at the radius where you marked the TDC you can calculate 15 degree of a circle by proportion x the circumference.

I.E. Inches of Circumference x 15/360 =
inches of 15 degrees of arc.

Then measure this arc distance along the pulley from the TDC mark you determined (use the distance marked on a piece of paper to get it to contour the pulley). If not sure of crank rotation, to keep it simple you can place a 15 degree mark on each side of the TDC mark and when you place the timing light on the pulley one of these will be correct and it will be obvious when you adjust the CAS.

Might want to consider getting another UD pulley or put the OEM back on?
