Message :I did some maintenence on my car this week (changed out injectors and tried to find a reason for hard start). first thing i found was that the fuel dampener was leaking gas through the vacuum like into the plenum directly, causing a super rich condition during shifts and also causing a hard start after it sat there dripping for a few hours.
:I ordered a new one but i need to drive the car in the meantime. Is it safe to drive the car without the fuel dampener? I have routed a fuel line just cutting it out completely.

I had the same condition recently and Woody75 advised that I could just cap off the fuel dampner hose until I replaced it ; with no narm done.
