I had no problem passing emissions with my Fed. car when i moved to CA. I do have an NA but from what i understand the precats on TT's are ancillary at most, and many have passed CA emissions with only main cats. Of course it all boils down to the actual running condition and tune of the engine itself. There are Z's that will pass the strictest emissions tests with NO cats, and Z's that will not pass with all 4 cats. My suggestion is find a decent test station and have it tested as is. If it passes, great. If not, and you found the *right* shop, reinstall stock precats/dp's and go back for another test. Last year i failed due to a high idle, so went home and adjusted, came back the next day and guy did not charge me the second time. basically i paid to have my car fail, and then had it pass for free. but it all depends on where you go.
