For a while there has been only 2 issues with my auto tranny. 1. When the car is in ACC or ON and I depress the pedal from 5% to 45%, there is a weird “electric whine” which comes from my transmission, maybe a solenoid or something. Using my SAFC as a guide, the whine gets louder up until %5 then its a constant whine until 45% then it trails off and is silenced towards WOT. 2. When I am driving the car, always when cruising in OD, at any speed, but usually above and around 80, the transmission awkwardly shifts out of OD and into 3rd, but doesn’t lock the torque converter (so when I let off the gas the rpms drop down to about idle). Sometimes it fights itself and goes through this funk for half a second and corrects itself, but sometimes it doesn’t correct itself. The only way I have found to solve the problem, is to turn off the car and restart it. This happens enough that I have gotten really good at doing this on the highway while still keeping with traffic by popping it into neutral. ANY thoughts??
