as far as I'm concerned, warped is the same as saying they are deformed or bent. Under normal use, the sprockets do not, under any circumstances, warp, bend or become deformed. It doesn't have anything to do with "decking", "diff deck sizes", "something crazy", or any other misconstrued notion. The rear covers are swaged into the sprocket when manufactured. This swaging process simply folds metal over the cover, locking it into the gear assembly. There is no method used to prevent the cover from spinning other than the grip of the swaged material. The internal VTC mechanism's thrust surface bears against the inside of the rear cover, and the VTC mechanism rotates 10° everytime the VTC cycles on or off. If the swaging process does not grip the rear cover tight enough, over time the inner mechanism can spin the rear cover which will eventually kill the o-ring used to seal the back of the sprocket, leading to an oil leakage.
