I'm troubleshooting a power lag just off idle and am suspecting an air leak. I pressurized the plenum to very low pressures --like less than one psi-- and the most conspicuous leak is coming from the valve stem of the EGR valve. My searches on here indicate that some amount of bleeding in not unusual even in a new EGR valve. But what is normal? 5psi to *some* pressure over the span of one minute? Since I'm using a bicycle pump to pressurize the plenum I can't even get up to 5psi. For sure the EGR valve is the loudest and most likely only air leak in my system. Idle is a little rough but stable and on spec. Timing is dead on at 15 degrees. Injectors and PCVs are brand new. Fuel pressure is in spec too. Do I have an EGR air leak problem here or not? I don't want to attempt the painful EGR delete procedure based on a half-assed diagnosis. Any links to specific info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
