:Trying to take my crank off and the timing belt gear pulley that sits on the crank before the oil pump will not come out. I tried heating it, wacking it with chisels etc. any have this problem? any ideas? [ http://www.kanolabs.com/google/ ] I use Aero Kroil on all of mine. Soak it as often as possible front, rear and in the keyway (while it is pointed North). Then if you need to break it loose set a pry bar between the gear and the washer (so you don't damage the oil pump) and hit it gently with a hammer inward onto the crank. This will straighten the key in the keyway and allow it to slide off.
I am not a huge fan of beating or cutting anything close to the crank. Bearings do not like it and you risk damaging the crank snout.
