Message you can very easily remove the hatch without taking down the headliner.

I used a flex head ratcheting wrench. definitely the right tool for the job.

the problem is putting it back together. VERY tough to get the bolts back in because its a big heavy hard to move hatch and its a blind shot in semi tight space. If you have 4-5 guys you could probably do it, but even with three guys (two to hold/align the hatch and one to put hte bolts in) its a big pain.

To make life easier I went to the headliner and removed the other side of the hinges. this way is MUCH easier, but i absolutely recomend getting 5 guys and doing it the right way. Im sure three guys could do it if they were patient, but I don't think you could possibly do it with two.

the reason i don't recomend taking off the car side of the hinge under the headliner is you have to break the seal, so if you are going this route, have some sealant on hand to seal it back up.

the wires disconnect in the hatch and can be fed out at any time, which means remove wires before unbolting hatch, and bolt hatch back on before worrying about wires.

the panels on the sides of the hatch are help in with just snap clips. just pull straight away and the will come off.
not really that hard.

be carefull. if they hatch is pushed up to hard you can easily break the glass.
