Message of course, is to get a new seal. How would you feel if you had to pull the tranny again (presuming you don't have engine out)?

On the other hand...if you are a gambler...the outer diameter of the outer shell of the seal must be in tact to seal, and the rubber lip must not be damaged or distorted in any way to seal correctly. If the inner ring is slightly dinged...and neither the outer shell diameter or the rubber sealing element surface is distorted...you are probably okay.

However, the safest thing to do is...replace the seal.
