Three stages base, pearl, clear. That is why these pearl white or pearl yellow cars have to be totally resprayed to achieve a uniform look. I know of 2 cases where owners of these cars had the insurance companies completely repaint their cars after the cars had been repaired. Due to the fact that both resprays and blend jobs were very obvious and neither even looked like the same color. Basically impossible to match if touching up or painting just a small panel.
