just delete the egr unit and you can buy plugs from bernie(nova) to plug the hole in the exhaust manifold. The nut is much easier to get off with a socket but if its stripped I would just cut it as close to the nut as possible and then PB Blaster the snot out of it untill its able to be ripped off with whatever mean you have left (vise grips :( ).
