His reasoning, which I agree with, was that if you want a car to reach peak power right away (ie. for a race car) break it in hard. It will seal up by forcing everything together. If you want a long lasting engine, break it in soft and the parts can slowly form to each other. Obviously, I recommend breaking it in gently and that is what I intend to do. Don't forget to change your oil a lot at the beginning. Also, it is not necessary to not boost at all. I plan to run 7 psi (WG spring pressure) for 1000 miles and then dial it up slowly over the next 500 or so. I have no evidence to back this theory up, so take it as just that; a theory.
