Message	Set point adjusts, well, the set point. Boost level in this case. Set the gain too high and the boost will overshoot ("spike"). Set it too low and it will take a long time to get get to the set point. In general, turn the gain down, set the boost level and then adjust the gain until it overshoots. Iteratively fine tune after that.
