Message motor. I just had a lot of work done by Vision Nissan in Webster. The service manager there, John Russo is a great guy who will work with you every step of the way and give you a fair deal.

The mechanic who is there guy for anything Z related is named Dennis. He seems like an old fart, who was always really put off when I would come in and look over his shoulder and take pictures as he worked on my car. He seams to be a really good mechanic, and has great attention to detail, finding problems and fixing them if it can be done quick and cheaply rather than just doing the job you ask and ignoring the rest like a lot of mechanics will do.

Only negative I had about the whole experience is that they gave me my car back with a bad det. sensor and never said anything about it because they didn't think it would do anything. Also when installing the new EFI harness, I dont know if he just marked how everything was before and put it back the exact same way and it was wrong to start out with, or if he just made a mistake, but he gave the car back with the det. sensor plugged into the VTC clip, and the VTC plugged into the det. sensor clip. This took me a lot of grief and pestering of people on this forum to fix.

Anyways, overall I would recommend them again, especially since I dont know of any specialty shops in the area, I just wish I personally had more knowledge of my car going into it. As far as price the charged me 3000$ labor to:

diagnose a blown turbo,
Pull the motor,
new EFI harness
new Turbos
new down pipes
new ecu
new dual intake
install boost controller
Tear the motor down to the block and replace all the seals and gaskets, put it back together.
replace numerous missing bolts, seals, brackets, vacuum hoses and other crap that was just missing or broken

and put it all back together (almost)flawlessly. The charged me for I think 45 hours of work at 65/hr which isn't bad at all, most dealers charge over 90/hr. That and I know he worked on it over 45 hrs so I cant really complain.

As for you, if your on a budget you might start deciding whether the car is worth the cost, or at least see if you can find someone to diagnose it for a fixed rate rather than hourly. If it was my car and I was really attached to it, I would start looking for a donor car for TT swap, or a new NA motor, either way it sounds like you will probly need one and swapping might be cheaper than fixing.

Anyway If you wanna get together sometime and take a look at it I wouldn't mind, more than likely whatever the problem is I can't fix it, but might be able to give you a better idea of what your into. Shoot me and e-mail if you'd like.
