In Reply To Nismo 740cc injectors on a 93 tt, is it possible? ---> posted by Quick_Z on June 17, 2008 at 08:26 AM

Message I learned recently that Nismo 740cc injectors only fit 94+ engines, but that if I replaced the lower plenum and the fuel rail with those from a 94+ engine, it would enable me to use the 740cc injectors anyway because there are no other differences.

Sort of. The 94+ injectors on are of a different type, and prove to be more reliable than the older type. Previously, having your lower plenum machined to fit the later injector and rail was the way to go. Nowadays, the best way to go is with the 300d rails that allow you to run later style injectors in the early style plenum with no machining.

Then someone told me the newer style injectors are of the low impedance type, which may cause a problem for the ECU trying to power them.

Stop taking advice from that person. They work fine.

I'm thinking about putting in JWT Sport 530BB turbos, 3" dp's and tp's, performance headers and a dual pop intake, so I thought I wouldn't leave the injectors which would become a bottleneck later.

Sounds like a great setup. IMO, when doing turbos, injectors really aren't even an option. The stock injectors just wouldn't be able to keep up safely.

Thanks for any suggestions

I highly suggest speaking to someone like Kyle at Import Parts Pro or Greg and Seb at SpecialtyZ. They really know what they're talking about, as well as being very standup guys who will give you good advice without trying to upsell you into something you don't need.
