Subject	Philips HID ballast with generic bulbs?

Message	somehow one of my $120 philips rebased D2S bulbs broke. Anyone know if you can just buy a cheap rebased 9006 4300k bulb(non-philips) and splice on the old philips specific wire connectors to the new generic bulb?
