| chip which is about 13psi. The reason has nothing to do with power. With BOV, you in between shifts the boost will rise quicker to the previous level prior to the shift. What you are doing is increasing boost response artificially because the turbo doesn't spin in the opposite direction as much ( I forget the physical process and I don't feel like researching it ) because of the air that is being vented. This also minimizes the shock to the turbo from elevated psi levels.
