It was 100 degrees today in North Carolina, and my Z did not like it one bit. I have a 93 NA, automatic. Here's what happened: Drove it about 2 miles round trip to a nearby store. Everything was OK. Half an hour later, I wanted to drive somewhere else, so I started up the engine and it started fine, but immediately began stumbling and only idling at around 500 RPM (usually idles around 900 RPM), making the whole car shake lightly. I decided to drive it around the neighborhood just to test it out, and every time I came to a stop, the engine would go back down 500 RPM and feel like it was almost stalling. I decided to not risk it, and went back home. My Z has a history of problems in extreme heat. Last summer, after driving an hour in 95+ degree heat, it wouldn't shift past 2nd gear (automatic transmission). This may be a unrelated problem, though. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
