Message The speed sensor has a plastic gear on the end - typically you can just swap the gear (~$10) and keep using the actual speed sensor that your NA transmission has.

If you piece meal a driveshaft you should have the new assembly balanced - Nissan balances them as a unit from the factory. I've sold used stock TT 5 speed driveshafts for ~$75 shipped or less, IMHO source a clean used unit w. a good center bearing or get a one piece - you're better off then cobbling & paying for balancing.

No you don't need anything "custom" - an off the shelf TT 5 speed will be what you need.

No input splines on the 5 speed driveshafts are the same, tt or NA doesn't matter.
