| advice to add?... - Yes relays can go bad. They work much like injectors and the coil inside can short out. - The FSM's circuit diagram will show all the various connections to this circuit. Might want to start with the master circuit 3 page overview diagram. - That circuit touches a few places so the details will be scattered in a number of other sub-circuit diagrams. Things like the driver side power window button illumination arrow, the left and right control pods for illumination, the dash cluster, ash tray bulb, cig. lighter bulb, etc. - Haven't examined that circuit in a while but pretty sure it also touches the headlamp relay. That is located up in the engine bay fuse box -- could try swapping the relay or using a ohm meter to buzz the coil out for a short. Or just pull the relay and see of the fuse no longer blows. Plug it back in and if the fuse blows you've found it. - If it's not the relay, could start unplugging the driver side window switch, control pods and the dash cluster to narrow down the short. I realize this is frustrating -- but wouldn't be surprised to find a previous owner did wire something in that's causing the issue. Just for grins - maybe check under the engine bay fuse box for the fog lamp (light w/out headlamps) splice-in mod (not even sure this would cause that issue - but something else to try?)...
