1. Wires that came apart - either your power wire or the ground. 2. Blown fuses - some head units have a separate fuse in their power wire line...or the fuse in the Z may be blown. If you blew a fuse, you will likely blow another one until you find where the short is - look for a trapped wire, or a bare wire from a loose connection. A voltmeter would really help here.
Did the head unit play before you stuck it back in?
