and modifying the bracket that stretches from the core support to the latch by drilling out the holes if it looks like it is pushing up on it. But if some moron did try to jack from the core support at some point, using a BFH might be the only solution to force it back down. I would also recommend using a scissor jack and some blocks of wood instead of a mallet.
