Message I'm looking for feedback on competition tires used for autox and lapping. I have a lot of experience, in a 300ZX TT, with Kumho V700 Victoracers and Dunlop Super Sport Race tires. I have limited experience with an older Hoosier (R3SO3). Always shaven and heat-cycled for the former two brands. Even if the Dunlops were good, they're discontinued. That leaves me with one data point - the VRs. I was amazed by the R3S03 tire that I used in a pinch at Big Willow, but can't justify the short tread-life for what I am using them for.

I've heard other Z-ers rave about the Toyo RA1, although the reviews for them don't look that great. I've also heard (and seen) great things with the Kumho V710, but I'm concerned about the total heat cycles and tread-life. The Pilot Cup Sports are a pretty penny, but are they worth it? Given all this, should I stick with ye ole' faithful Victoracer? I like them, but I'd like a little more bite, too.

I suppose the voting is important, but I'd rather the feedback.
Thanks,
SS
