Message terms of stoichiometry (the relationship between reactants and products - 'air' and 'fuel' -> exhaust, 14.7:1 is a 'perfect' air-to-fuel ratio). My programs target 11.5:1, which is plenty safe(rich), its just not as rich as the JWT program so you wont get nearly as much soot on the back or your car and tailpipes, and you will make a bit more power with the AshSPEC for this and several other reasons. Additionally, the safety-mode maps in the AshSPEC ECU have been properly configured with less aggressive parameters to help conserve the engine in the event the ECU detects a problem. This ECU has been known very well for these safety and performance features for a few years now.

There are also enhancements made in the ignition system to improve spark energy (ignition dwell) to help minimize misfire as you increase your boost pressure. This produces smoother power/torque curves throughout the RPM band, notably in the 4000RPM->redline region while under boost - exactly when you need the hottest spark to ignite your compressed mixture.

Enhancements to acceleration enrichment to provide a crisp throttle response make for a very drivable, high-horsepower Z.

Fuel and timing maps are expanded to allow ECU accurate control over a wider range of engine RPM and boost pressure.

Rev limiter set to 7450RPM by default, can be adjusted as per request.

Valve-Timing-Control parameters have been optimized for improved bottom end power, quicker spoolup, and greater torque production in the upper RPM band.

Programs are available for any configuration and will pass even the most stringent CALI emissions tests.

These ECUs are provided either direct through myself for $300 or through Z1 Motorsports for the same price. I guarantee same-day turnaround if you send your ECU in to me first, or you can purchase through Z1 on a advance-core basis (for an additional but refundable $300). ECU Re-programming is $50.

Although I have a plethora of data that suggests it to be unnecessary, if you would like, I am offering the option to those who feel they need a 'richer' mixture and less aggressive tuning for their Z. I am providing this at no additional cost to the upgrade price - just request this and it will be done for your new tune.

Additionally, if you take your car to the dyno with one of the AshSPEC programs and provide results to me, I can review the data, give you my input on it and produce an additional program to fine-tune your car based on its performance. Having tuned over 100 Z's to date, with my experience, knowledge, and equipment, this can be successfully achieved to optimize your Z's performance.. I am providing this service for an additional $150.

An EPROM switch can also be provided for your car - this device allows the quick 'switching' between two different programs. Taking advantage of race fuel by upping boost pressure will make more power, but having the ability to add in a few more degrees of ignition timing will make appreciable power gains as well. The EPROM switch was built with this in mind and installation only takes about 1/2 hour - no soldering, no special tools required. Typically a race fuel program and pump fuel program are used, but this could be any combination of a pump/valet (30MPH limiter, 3500RPM limiter), pump/N2O injection, etc. This device has a small switch that can be installed discretely in a number of places within the driver's reach. This device can be produced and sold for $150 to existing AshSPEC ECU owners.

The JWT ECU upgrade has been around since nearly the dawn of the Z32 and has been the sole provider of ECU upgrades. This is a very well know and tested product so you can feel that 'extra' sense of security just by the name, but in my professional opinion, while its generously conservative configuration drives A/F ratios deep into 'richness', its lack of a safety configuration will make no changes to try and 'save' the engine if a problem is detected by the ECU. No modifications of ignition dwell have been made either. They make a program for all configurations out there, but their customer service department seemingly has been very busy as there are lead times of several weeks to get an ECU upgrade through them. Price $695 (direct) but you can usually find them for around $450-$550 and re-programming is $100.

Thanks for reading, I hope this helps you make a decisions and I hope to do business with you in the future!
