The pictorial description and signal voltages in the FSM section for testing the boost sensor are incorrect in all years of the FSM. It appears that there was some sort of change in the boost sensor that didn't make it into the FSMs. This is how the boost sensor looks in my 1991, 1993 and both of my 1990 cars.
This is how the FSM depicts the boost sensor and voltage connection for testing it. This same depiction is in all FSMs.
This is how the voltage connections to the boost sensor should be made. While using the stock boost gauge, a signal of zero voltage will display -14 psi, a signal voltage of 2 volts will display zero psi and a signal voltage greater than 4 volts will display +14 psi.
