Message I've experienced a loss of power steering the other day. Here is a harrowing tale of the traumatic experience.

The time has come to visit Specialty-Z for some loving care. Oil changed, high beam lights changed (Auxito LEDs that can irradiate a small town) put in. The fan clutch replaced, as the stock one showed signs of aging - had a case of locking even at idle. An idling issue addressed (engine would stall on occasion).

With the man himself (Seb) in the passenger seat we went for a drive to see how things were. As we never had a chance before to test how the RaceLogic system behaves, decided to give it a try. Floored in the second gear - things a re very stable, RL retards the engine well, no fish-tailing. Felt fantastic.

So, I decided to try the first gear. Behaved the same as far as RL is concerned. But suddenly the steering got very heavy. Without any hesitation Seb says 'power steering belt has jumped'.

Luckily, we were no more than a mile and a half from the shop. I got a bit of a workout turning the car (I have to admit I badly need some workouts) as we pulled into the shop.

Opened the hood and indeed, the belt was just hanging there. 10 minutes later the belt was back on and my opportunity to exercise was eliminated.

So, now I know that RL is working well and I need to be aware of what may happen. I suppose testing launch control will need to be postponed until a 4-rib pulleys and belt are installed (if ever).

And here it is - a Christmas Miracle, if you can call it that :)

Cheers to all!
