Message I 'think' that the stock setup was supposed to create some sort of venturi effect/vacuum while driving. The triangular pieces that fit to the bottom vent would draw in air from the intercooler areas and vent that hot air to the bottom of the car.

The problem is most cars first off, use aftermarket intercoolers and could probably use more flow.
The second thing is, a lot of cars no longer have those triangular plastic things under the car so the venturi effect is now gone. So no more 'vacuum effect' pulling air through the intercoolers.

I'd think drilling or hole-punching out the rear of the stock fender liners would at least give more area for the pushed air that went through the intercoolers from the front, allowing more volume area to exit out the back and into the tire area after the liner.

*Just my opinion.
